"Wcale nie jestem sam - pomyslałem. Właściwie nigdy nie byłem. I to właśnie jest przesłanie świąt Bożego Narodzenia - nigdy nie jesteśmy sami. Nawet wtedy, gdy noc jest najciemniejsza, wiatr najzimniejszy, a świat pozornie najbardziej obojętny."
/Taylor Caldwell/

"I am not alone at all, I thought. Iwas never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent."
/Taylor Caldwell/

właśnie skończyłam ubierać choinkę (choć w stroju nieco cieplejszym niż pani na załączonym obrazku).
myślę o was - o moich przyjaciołach, o waszych domach i waszych bliskich.
o tych, którzy milczą.
o tych, którym ciężko i o tych, którzy nie tracą nadziei.
moje myśli i najlepsze życzenia płyną do was ponad domami.

I have just finished decorating our Christmas tree (although dressed a bit warmer than the lady above).
I'm thinking about you - my firends, your homes and people around you.
I'm thinking about those of you who are silent.
and those who are struggling, and those who don't lose hope.
my thoughts and best of wishes are floating in the air towards you.

"Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working."

w niedzielę miałam wielką przyjemność oddać się w ręce utalentowane Czekoczyny.
kazała bezkompromisowo ciąć śliczne papiery, despotycznie zarządzała bałaganić w żurnalu (i dokładać coraz więcej i więcej), a w finale hojnie chlapać acetonem, gesso i ecolinami.
{p.s. zdjęcia wypożyczone od Scrap Studio}

last Sunday I attended a workshop taught by immensly talented Czekoczyna.
it was such a pleasure to surrender to her teaching - we cut, we created a huuuge mess in our journals and generously splashed gesso and inks.
it was an amazing feeling to...just let go. :)
{photos courtesy of Scrap Studio}

above - pages I created in my art journal. the idea was not to think to much but just surrender to our emotions.
(the text says):

"Proszę, zacznij już dziś pieśń nową życia, uśmiechnij się do siebie, przebacz sobie samemu, poznaj swoje słabości i dary ukryte, pogódź się ze sobą, przywitaj siebie samego, powiedz sobie dzień dobry i rozpocznij dalszą wędrówkę."

"I'm asking you, start a new song of life today, smile at yourself, forgive yourself, know your weeknesses and hidden gifts, become reconciled with yourself, welcome yourself, say hello to yourself and continue the journey."

na Collage Caffe wzięłyśmy na warsztat "Portret pani Solskiej" Wyspiańskiego. zajrzyjcie koniecznie!

przeszyte kartki dostałam w wymianie od Normy.

the stitched pages that I incorporated into my journal were a gift from Norma. it was one really amazing swap - imagine you get an envelope and you love e.v.e.r.y s.i.n.g.l.e item inside!

this week we're celebrating our first anniversary on Collage Caffe. one year ago together with three of my art friends we opened our virtual cafe and it's been a very special time for all of us.
unfortunately, the blog is in Polish only but you can take a peek - we're celebrating our birthday giving away four collage kits we created together. we called them our Special Desserts - there's one about Coffee, Tea, Moon and Art. if you like them, it's just enough to leave a comment. the drawing will take place on December 8th.

zapraszamy do naszego "kącika prasowego".

"Wierzę w zwykły rodzaj magii - to niewytłumaczalne uczucie, którego czasem doświadczamy w pewnych miejscach, z niektórymi ludźmi czy dziełami sztuki; to niesamowite uczucie odpowiedniości w chwilach pozornie przypadkowych; ten szept, niewidzialna obecność, kiedy myślimy, że jesteśmy sami."
/Charles de Lint/

"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic - the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropiriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone."
/Charles de Lint/

dzisiaj Święty Marcin. i chociaż mieszkam na płaskim Mazowszu, mogłam obchodzić to słodkie poznańskie święto. a to wszystko dzięki niewiarygodnej Michelle, która obdarowała mnie świeżymi, rozpustnie pysznymi marcińskimi rogalami. są tak wielkie, że - słowo daję - zajęło mi cały dzień, żeby je zjeść. ;)

today in Poland (or to be specific: in Poznan) people celebrate St Martin's Day in a very sweet way - eating delicious traditional croissants. I don't live anywhere near Poznan but I'm very lucky to be friends with one very special lady - Michelle - who sent me two yummy croissants - they're heavenly and so huge that it took me literally a whole day to eat them. ;)
if you're curious - here you can read about them. by the way, here's a great blog filled with lots of recipes of how to make traditional Polish food - Polish Girls Can Cook!
Miszelko, to już oficjalne: kocham cię. :)))

kolejne pytanie na Collage Caffe. tutaj możecie zobaczyć odpowiedzi Cynki, Tymonsyl i Urtiki.

new pages in our collage caffe altered book questions project. my question this time was: "How are you, darling?" here you can see my friends' answers.

i moja odpowiedź:
and my answer is:

niedawno do mojego domu przyleciała kolejna urocza koperta...
some time ago yet another adorable envelope reached my house...

...inside there was this gorgeous notebook created by my favourite decoupage artist - Konstancja8.

żurnalowe strony o marzeniach i wspomnieniach stworzone dla Ushii.

pages I made for Ushii in her art journal about memories and dreams.
the little girl on the right is me. :)
(the text on the left):
"ever since I can remember I would retreat into daydreaming"

I used to think I could do without all those crafty gadgets. until this lovely envelope arrived at my house...
...a w niej jeszcze dwie maleńkie kopertki...
...inside of which there were these two cute tiny envelopes...
...and inside one of them my very favourite rubber stamp!!!
if you look again - THE stamp made its first appearance on journal pages above. :)
...a tę niesamowita niespodziankę zawdzięczam Patty, której ciepło i serce miało już okazję poznać wiele z was.
...and I owe this amazing surprise to Patty who is world known for her warmth and huge huge heart.
kartka jej rąk oczywiście.

Patty also spoiled me with the gorgeous card above.
Patty, I won't exaggerate that I was moved to tears.
thank you from the bottom of my heART..... ♥

"Kiedy burza minie nie będziesz pamiętać jak to wytrzymałeś, jak udało ci się przetrwać. Nie będziesz nawet pewien czy już naprawdę po wszystkim. Lecz jedno jest pewne. Kiedy przetrwasz burzę, będziesz zupełnie nową osobą. I o to właśnie chodzi w burzy."
/Haruki Murakami/

"Once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what the storm is all about."

ale się narobiło. Polki mnie Scrapują. mnie. nie-skraperkę... ;)
chodzi o to, żeby poprzesadzać. :) ja oczywiście zaszalałam ze słowami i moimi ulubionymi retro panciami.

I was invited by a Polish portal called "Polki Scrapują" to be their September guest.
it's in Polish but in case you were curious you can read the interview translated {HERE}.
the work above was created for a challenge that I was supposed to organize.
I called it "The Rain of Words" and the task of our talented Polish girls is to create a work that will be all about exaggeration - I asked to use nothing but one's favourite techniques/images/tools etc. pure fun, don't you think?
I went for words and texts (the ones in the background don't make much sense) & my beloved vintage ladies.
(the texts on the ladies):
"my thing/usually the portraits of beautiful women/I sing the words to myself/sometimes so strangely powerful/I shiver carried by an unknown force/days and nights I think/is it ordinary?"

this is my answer to one of the hardest questions I have ever been asked.
it was Urtica who asked us: "How to be yourself?"

mój wpis do niezwykłego żurnala Cynki.

my entry in this incredible round robin art journal started off by my friend Cynka. she asked us to meet with Emily Dickinson. and I must say I spent a wonderful evening in her company.Link {the text on the left - from this poem}: "If you were coming in the Fall/I'd brush the Summer by/With half a smile, and half a spurn"

my mail box's been having such a great time recently...
today I opened an envelope from LaWendula filled with everything I adore and...

taki mi "Dziwny ogród" wyrósł wyhodowany na inspiracji obrazem Józefa Mehoffera {poniżej}.
a w Collage Caffe więcej ogrodów...
kwiatki nauczone od Craftypantek.

this collage was inspired by the painting you can see below - it's "Strange Garden" by Józef Mehoffer.
on Collage Caffe you can see the visions of my friends.

I made my flowers using this tutorial.
(the texts say):
"I don't need anything else/to escape there/some calm/to be in silence/art/without rush/alone with myself"

bo do "Dziwnego ogrodu" można wejść...

this very garden is part of my favourite Cracow memories. the painter's house was turned into a museum and you can see his garden there as well...
...it was an incredible feeling - to enter the painting...
...można usiąść w cudownej ciszy i spędzić cały dzień...
...you can sit there in perfect silence and spend the whole day...
...pijąc doskonałą kawę...
...drinking perfect coffee...
...i żurnalując.
...and journaling...
gorąco polecam. hałaśliwa ulica Krupnicza kryje w zanadrzu "dziwny ogród", z którego trudno jest wyjść. {gdyby ktoś szukał to proszę i proszę}

if you ever visit Cracow, make sure you see this magical place. it's in really busy Krupnicza Street (very near the centre) but if you enter this "Strange garden" you may find it difficult to leave.

and in my mailbox - a Quick Swap (organized by LaWendula) envelope from Lee from Canada. some of my favourite things inside - vintage papers and images, delicious stamps and art supplies not yet available here in Poland. Lee, thanks a million! I can't wait to sit at my desk and play play play! :)
