"Czymże jest życie, jeśli nie szeregiem natchnionych szaleństw? - Trzeba tylko umieć je popełniać! A pierwszy warunek: nie pomijać żadnej sposobności, bo nie zdarzają się co dzień."
/George Bernard Shaw/

"What is life but a series of inspired follies? The difficulty is to find them to do. Never lose a chance: it doesn't come every day."
/George Bernard Shaw/

Tymonsyl zapytała nas: Czy to już szaleństwo?"

this is my answer to Tymonsyl's question in her round robin altered book: "Is it madness yet?"
the cut out words are mostly "yes" and "no" in Polish. separated by a couple of "a little", "sometimes", "I can't remember", "I don't know"...

"Ilu z nas by w ogóle zauważyło, gdyby Muza zapukała jutro do naszych drzwi?"
/Carole Katchen/

"If a muse knocked at our studio door tomorrow, how many of us would even notice?"
/Carole Katchen/

zadałam kolejne pytanie.
w otwartej po urlopie Collage Caffe odpowiedzi Kawiarnianych Artystek.

above - a question I asked in my round robin altered book: "What is the relationship between a model and an artist?"

tak wygląda moja odpowiedź:

below is my answer:
left - "Her inner flame was burning." right - "When one is a work of art."

"Za każdym mężczyzną, który osiągnął sukces, stoi kobieta."

"Behind every successful man there is a woman."

mój wpis w wędrującym art żurnalu Guriany. tematem były kwestie damsko-męskie. postanowiłam wykonać ukłon w kierunku tych wszystkich "niewidzialnych" kobiet, bez których Wielu Wielkich by nie zaistniało. znacie takie? możecie wymienić z nazwiska. to wręcz wskazane. ;)

this is my entry in Guriana's round robin art journal. the topic: men & women - two points of view. my idea here is to pay hommage to all those "invisible" women without whom so many Great Men would simply achieve nothing.
(the text says):
"don't be surprised, my dear"

(the words):
"wife/lover/muse/partner/therapist/cook/confessor/admirer/impresario/guardian/nurse/friend/mother/inspiration/surprise/solace"

/James Earl Jones/

Cynka zapytała: "Co czujesz podskórnie?"
to jest moja odpowiedź. a {tutaj} pozostałe - moich Utalentowanych Kawiarek.

this is my answer.
(the word on the right): "anxiety".

/Mary Ann Radmacher/

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow."
/Mary Anne Radmacher/

kolejne pytanie na Collage Caffe. tutaj możecie zobaczyć odpowiedzi Cynki, Tymonsyl i Urtiki.

new pages in our collage caffe altered book questions project. my question this time was: "How are you, darling?" here you can see my friends' answers.

i moja odpowiedź:
and my answer is:

niedawno do mojego domu przyleciała kolejna urocza koperta...
some time ago yet another adorable envelope reached my house...

...inside there was this gorgeous notebook created by my favourite decoupage artist - Konstancja8.

27 lipca 2011

"Każdy talent ma dwóch wrogów: wielbiciela i zazdrośnika."
/Albert Emil Brachvogel/

"Every talent has two enemies: the admirer and the jealous."
/Albert Emil Brachvogel/

dopasowana do siatkowego wyzwania Craftypantek.
wcześniej siatka otulała nektarynki. :)

a {tutaj} odpowiedzi moich Kochanych Kolażystek z Collage Caffe.

my journaling answer to Tymonsyl's question: "What does jealousy wear?"
(the text says):
"in a corset"

it's also my entry to Craftypantki's challenge which was to use some sort of net.
my net is from a basket with nectarines.

and {here} you can see the answers of my darling Collage Cafffe friends.

23 maja 2011

"Twój charakter pisma. Sposób, w jaki chodzisz. Wzór porcelany, które wybierasz. To wszystko cię zdradza. Wszystko jest autoportretem. Wszystko jest dziennikiem."
/Chuck Palahniuk/

"Your handwriting. The way you walk. Which china pattern you choose. It's all giving you away. Everything is a self-portrait. Everything is a diary."
/Chuck Palahniuk/

Cynka nasza kochana zadała niełatwe pytanie: "Co masz w głowie?"
na Collage Caffe mozna zobaczyć odpowiedzi moich ulubionych Kolażystek.

my dear friend Cynka asked a question: "What's in your head?" and here is my answer.
{here} you can see the interpretations of my Collage Caffe partners.

you can see the translation of the contents of my head {here}.

"Jeśli przyjrzeć się bliżej, to ludzie są tak dziwni i skomplikowani, że czyni ich to pięknymi."
/Adlai E. Stevenson/

"When you look closely people are so strange and so complicated that they're actually beautiful."
/Adlai E. Stevenson/

moje pytanie z naszych kolażowych spotkań w Collage Caffe.
oczko na pani mruga. :)
pozostałe odpowiedzi koniecznie do zobaczenia {tutaj}.
a poniżej moja.
panienka-dziwaczka macha nogami i skrzydłami.

this is my question from our Collage Caffe round robin questions art journals.
the eye on the lady actually blinks.
(the question):
"am I some kind of weird?"

my friends' answers are {here} and below you can see mine.
this lovely lady can move her wings and legs.

(the text says):
"maybe"

9 maja 2011

"Zawsze przebaczaj swoim wrogom. Nic ich bardziej nie rozzłości."
/Oscar Wilde/

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much."
/Oscar Wilde/

koniecznie zobaczcie odpowiedzi jakie padły w Collage Caffe.

my friend Tymonsyl asked us "where does anger reside?"
this is my answer:
left page - "anger/fury"
right page - "I'd rather take a deep breath"

I came to a conlusion that I don't get anything out of anger in my life. which doesn't mean of course that suddenly I turned into a Zen master. no, I certainly do feel like throwing heavy objects around sometimes.
but I discovered that I find my strength in peace.

here you can see the answers of my Collage Caffe friends.

20 lutego 2011

"Nauczyłem się kochać tajemniczość. Ona jedna chyba może życie nasze uczynić niezwykłym i cudownym. Najpospolitsza rzecz zyskuje urok, gdy się ją zachowuje w tajemnicy."
/Oscar Wilde/

"I have grown to love secrecy. It seems to be the one thing that can make modern life mysterious or marvelous to us. The commonest thing is delightful if only one hides it."
/Oscar Wilde/

takie pytanie zadałam Muzom z Collage Caffe w mojej książce.
poniżej moja odpowiedź. a tutaj piękne strony Cynki, Tymonsyl i Urtiki.

this is the question I asked my Collage Caffe friends in my altered book:
"What is hidden in the sealed envelopes?"
below my answer: "a secret".

15 lutego 2011

"Dano ci życie, które jest tylko opowieścią. Ale to już twoja sprawa, jak ty ją opowiesz i czy umrzesz pełen dni."
/Marek Hłasko/

"You were given a life that is nothing but a story. And it's entirely up to how you tell it and whether you die filled with days."
/Marek Hłasko/

to moja odpowiedź na pytanie Tymonsyl.
chyba najtrudniejsze w tej rundzie. sprawka pewnego trzylatka. ;)
a tak wyglądają odpowiedzi dziewczyn z Collage Caffe.

tło znowu kawą malowane.
a ostatnio czytałam jeszcze o barwieniu papieru kawą i wanilią. czas (!) na jeszcze więcej przyjemności. :)

this is my answer to another question in the round robin question project I'm taking part in.
this is my answer to Tymonsyl's question which was: "How does the time go by?"
this was one of the most difficult questions I had to deal with. and it was asked by a certain three-year old boy. :)

(the text in Tymonsyl's altered book):
left: "time goes by"
(hands of the clocks): "If we acknowledge that the passage of time is a certain thing, and it's impossible to do otherwise, our sole influence on time is the intensity of our participation in this game."

the background is stained with coffee. somehow I can't stop playing with this technique lately.
yet another addiction? ;)

30 stycznia 2011

"Słowo umiera-/(Głosi opinia) -/Ledwie z ust ujdzie.
Skądże - dopiero/Wtedy zaczyna/Żyć - w tej sekundzie."
/Emily Dickinson/

"A word is dead/When it is said,/Some say.
I say it just/Begins to live/That day."
Emily Dickinson

rzecz jest prosta - zapraszamy do zabawy literami i słowami. w dowolnej kolejności i interpretacji. :)

these collages are the first pages of a book that I'm altering right now. it's a new exciting project called Personal Dictionary.we are going to play with words and letters and here are myAs.
(the above):
"A is for ach"

in Polish A is also for a beau or a dandy. ;)
(the text says):
"Henryk Mader was considered to be one of the most handsome and elegant men in the capital."

I would also like to show off these delicious paper goodies that I got from June in our January Paper Swap. the envelope is a great piece of mail art and its content is as exciting.

June also made this beautiful journal for me. somehow she knew which words (just look at the cover) I so desperately needed...

June, I'm sending you a huge thank you across the world!!!

"Bądź cierpliwa dla wszystkiego, co poddaje próbom twoje serce, i spróbuj pokochać pytania. Nie szukaj odpowiedzi teraz, bo nie jesteś gotowa, aby żyć według nich, a najważniejsze to wprowadzać je w życie. Teraz przeżywaj swoje pytania."
/Rainer Maria Rilke/

"Be patient toward all that is ensolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions."
/Rainer Maria Rilke/

this is just a start - a cover of my new collaborative project.
together with my wonderful inspiring friends from Collage Caffe we decided to start a special kind of conversation.
each of us made her own altered book in which we asked one question and sent it to the others to answer.
take a look at the beautiful covers the girls created.
the answers to my question #1 soon to come...

(the title on the cover):
"ask yourself"

"questions"

"Żyję w rzeczywistości, która mnie nie otacza."
/Feliks Rajczak/

"I live in the reality that does not surround me."
/Feliks Rajczak/

kiedy zobaczyłam ten kolaż Cynki zdałam sobie sprawę, że dawno temu zrobiłam jego siostrzaną wersję...

when I saw this collage made by my friend Cynka I realized that long time ago I made a similar one...
(the text says):
"no, no, don't wake me up. I'm having such interesting dreams."

below some artwork I received from two exceptional ladies (both named Kasia).
I must admit that my lousy photos don't reflect the true beauty of their works.

dary od Kasi z O jak Oliwka:
i gołe baby, za którymi obydwie przepadamy :)

we're both into naked vintage girls :)

i od Kasi, która kocha Szkieuka:
bardzo bardzo wam dziękuję.
za te koperty pełne skarbów i otuchy..........

31 maja 2010

"Uważam, że jednym z największych komplementów, które można sprawić drugiej osobie, jest to, kiedy mówisz do niej, jednocześnie nie myśląc o tym, że to robisz. Jesteś sobą, ponieważ nie zawracasz sobie głowy myśleniem o tym, kim powinieneś być. To tak, jakbyś mówił przez sen."
/David Levithan/

"I think one of the highest compliments you can give a person is that when you are talking to him, you are not thinking about the fact that you are talking to him. You are being yourself because you aren't bothering to think about who you should be. It is like when you talk in a dream."
/David Levithan/

the background is the lyrics of a song sung by Michael Buble. it was a great pleasure to listen to it live last Friday...

for Ania and Marcin who gave me one of the most incredible evenings in my life.
it's my thank you note for two days filled with emotions.
(a tiny text on the cd):
"a journey like no other"

May challenge by Michelle - Art Everyday

"Czasami być przyjacielem oznacza opanowanie sztuki wyczucia czasu. Jest czas na ciszę.
Jest czas, żeby pozwolić drugiemu odejść, żeby mógł wyjść naprzeciw swojemu przeznaczeniu.
Jest też czas na przygotowanie, żeby pomóc mu pozbierać się jak już będzie po wszystkim."
/Gloria Naylor/

"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. Amd a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over."
/Gloria Naylor/

właśnie zobaczyłam u Patty interesujący pomysł.
zajrzyjcie do początków swojego bloga i zamieśćcie ponownie swój 10 post.
gdzie wtedy byłyście?

powyżej mój z 19 czerwca 2009.

I just saw an interesting idea on Patty's blog.
look back on your blog and replay your 10th post.
where were you then?

this one's mine from June 19, 2009.

(the text says):
"No, don't reach for paper and a pen! I'll try to tell you clearly and briefly about these things. You just have to listen carefully and look not outside the window or into my eyes, but right at the pictures I am going to obligingly present to you."
(the title of the book):
"100 minutes for your beauty."

31 marca 2010

"Na miłość boską, zatrzymaj się na chwilę, przestań pracować i rozejrzyj się wokół siebie."
/Lew Tołstoj/

strony z altered booka dla Uli. na dowód tego, że naprawdę wszystko jest w porządku. :)

"In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you."
/Leo Tolstoy/

(the text says):
"how infinitely would the days drag if we weren't able to have coffee breaks"

the text in the altered book is a long piece of advice about how to turn washing the windows/cleaning the floors etc. into activities which will strengthen your muscles. the tone of the author is unbearably joyful and enthusiastic...

the lady: "to lie down and smell nice" which is a Polish expression to describe the ladies who do nothing and just look pretty.

the vintage ad on the right: a universal cleaning up appliance. essential for every housewife. only to be bought in Warsaw. :)

24 marca 2010

"Czasem używając maleńkiego tematu można opowiedzieć wielką historię."
/Eliot Porter/

"Sometimes you can tell a large story with a tiny subject."
/Eliot Porter/

darling Jill told me my package arrived safely so I can show the little altered book I made for her.
March Paper Swap organised by Lawendula. theme: "Numbers & Letters".

I decided to go for "one for sorrow...etc." nursery rhyme. :)
[photo of the cover by Jill]
"pięć to srebro"
"sześć - złoto"
"siedem - sekret nigdy nie ujawniony"

"Najważniejszą rzeczą, którą jedna kobieta może zrobić dla drugiej, to zapalić światło i poszerzyć jej pojęcie własnych możliwości."
/Adrienne Rich/

"The most important thing one woman can do for another is to illuminate and expand her sense of actual possibilities."
/Adrienne Rich/

chciałam wam podziękować.
tym, którzy zostawiają tu swoje słowa.
i tym, którzy oglądając milczą.

pani na zdjęciu to Jeanne Hebuterne - artystka i muza Amadeo Modiglianiego.

(the text says):
"my head is full of words."

I wanted to thank you.
thanks to all of you who leave your words here.
and to you who just look silently.
